Kelly Stellmach, EaVL Showhostess, announces and prepares to present Terri DeWit with a Special Award of MECATE's 2002 Patron of the Year. Our deepest appreciation to Terri for her "incentive program". Terri donated a MIB model to the MECATE member whose model won Grand Champion of Show for every POPS held in 2002!Terri DeWit shows off one of the twelve custom made and embroidered protective model pouches that Nella Dionne created for this Special Award. She seems to have overcome her nervousness and was very pleased with the award!
Just hanging around for the Nationals' Awards, right? Or so she may have thought! At this point Hope Ross was probably just waiting for Terri's on-the-spot moment to move into the Nationals' Awards... little did she know.......Kelly had a really close call and had to cover up Hope's award before she saw it prematurely! Does this expression constitute surprise? Maybe she was just tickled pink over Kelly's choice of medals on the plaque. A beautiful gaited horse, something right up Hope's alley!
MECATE's 2002 Member of the Year: Hope Ross was wonderful and volunteered to take over the task of Pointkeeper. But more than just crunching numbers, Hope went above and beyond the call of duty to begin implementing a concise database for MECATE registered models and then began taking on the task of more than two years' worth of points from the entire MECATE membership to enter manually. We weren't quite ready for YEA's final point tabulations, but Hope unquestionably earned this award!

But we can't forget Kelly! Thanks so much for taking the time during the lunch break to announce our 2002 Awards!

And the winners are....

Unfortunately not all of the Top Ten models and their owners could attend EaVL for our quasi-awards ceremony. Since we weren't quite ready for our YEA's, we wanted to do something special for the Nationals' winners. Top Ten placements from the year end show were calculated upon base points. OF & CM were combined for the Grand/Reserve placements. From left to right, the Top Ten winners were:
Beylee (KS) with 185 points, Grand Champion of Show [not present]; Brisbane (JDV) with 172 points, Reserve Grand Champion of Show; *Fantasy Witez II+ (HR) with 153 points; Calypso Honey (HR) with 129 points, Myndzai's Clairvoyant (JDV) with 119 points; Bonnie Yellowstone (JDV) with 97 points; RPS Brick House (TDW) with 90 points [not present]; All That Jazz (KS) with 88 points [not present]; Sterling's Náhuatl Cloud (JDV) with 88 points; CZ Rock Lobster (JB) with 87 points [not present].

In addition to rosettes, each of the Top Ten models were awarded "web-awards" (and this way you can see them all too!)
