This is the fifth annual live model horse show to be held in Mountain City, Johnson County, TN. There is a two-fold objective: First to promote interest in model horse collecting and competitive activities in Tennessee and neighboring states, and second, to provide financial aid to the Johnson County Humane Society (JCHS) toward the expansion and operation of the county animal shelter. All monies received from this show and available after the payment of show expenses will be given to the JCHS.

Directions: Mountain City, TN, is located in the extreme northeast corner of TN. US Highway 421 comes into town from the south (Boone, NC) and from the northwest (Bristol, TN). TN 67 comes into town from the west (Elizabethton, TN) and TN 91 comes from the north (Damascus, VA). Please read more detailed directions in the show packet available further down on this page.

Type of Show: OPEN! We offer this show as a means to participate in the broadening spectrum of model horse competition. There will be 5 divisions for plastics, resins, and china; for original finish and customized, and for halter and performance. Each division will have its own grand champion and reserve champion that will compete for the Grand Best of Show and Reserve Best of Show. (more information on this NAMHSA qualification....)

Awards:
  • Ribbons to first six (6) places in every class
  • Halter and performance divisions will have category Champions and Reserve Champions which will compete for Division Grand and Reserve Champions. All category/type Champions/Reserves will receive rosettes.
  • All division Champions/Reserves will receive rosettes and embroidered protective pouches. Division Grand/Reserve Champions will compete for a Best of Show Grand/Reserve.
  • Best of Show Grand/Reserve Champions will receive Rosettes, protective pouches and embroidered Table covers.
  • Special recognition for models and showers will be made throughout the day.
