Welcome to the home of MECATE (Model Equine Collectors and Tennessee Exhibitors). We are a group of model horse enthusiasts who enjoy the company of other like-minded individuals in all the aspects of this very interesting hobby. Each of us brings something different to our club: We are collectors, showers, judges, painters, tack makers, prop makers; we make, buy, sell, and trade; we have interests in halter, performance, breeds and bloodlines, on-line showing, live showing, show organization, fund raising, and a jillion other individual skills and talents. The experience levels within MECATE range from someone just getting started to professional artists, but we all share a common trait and that is our love for horses! Everyone is enthusiastic about the hobby and believes in sharing his/her knowledge with others who have this same interest.

MECATE offers an avenue for members to participate at any level desired; from the active and totally committed to a member who wishes to partake in selective events. In order to make the club highly successful; however, we need people who are willing to contribute their ideas, make suggestions, and offer something of their time and energy. The club operates under a set of group established by-laws (voted in and officially approved on February 20, 2003); has elected officers (currently nominations are being accepted until March 6, 2003, voting for nominees to begin March 10, 2003 and ending March 20, 2003); has an on-line newsletter/ezine (MECATE-zine) with announcements, articles, and ads; and offers members monthly on-line photo showing (or snail/ground mail hardcopy photos may be used) to earn points toward Year End Awards. We are constantly striving to make our club experience interesting, challenging, and always enjoyable.

Membership at this time is issued when the Membership Application has been filled out and received with dues by the MECATE Secretary/Treasurer. Annual dues of $15 per member household, or pro-rated amounts based upon when you join. Just contact Nella via the link below to express your interest and/or inquire for further information.
